Work Travel Program
The Work Travel Program enables university students from around the world to live and work in the USA during their summer break. Work Travel participants spend up to four months experiencing American culture, making new international friends, and working at a summer job to help cover the costs of the program. Work Travel participants may also spend an additional month at the end of their program traveling and exploring the country, reaping the full benefit of this cultural exchange.

Work Travel Services
Participants have the option of obtaining their own job through our Independent Placement Service or by matching skills, experience, and interests with one of our exceptional Premium Placements.
Premium Placement Service
The Premium Placement Service offers currently enrolled university students a choice from a variety of jobs throughout the United States secured by Intrax Work Travel.
Premium placements are screened and secured by the Intrax Placement Director team and are presented to you, our partner agency, to sell to your pre-screened applicants. Positions include ski lift operator, hotel desk clerk, cashier, lifeguard, housekeeping staff, cook, game attendant, fast food worker, and many others.
Independent Placement Service
The Independent Placement Service allows currently enrolled university students to secure their own job with a company in the United States.
The key benefit of the Independent Placement Service is that participants can secure their own position in the USA according to their specific job and location criteria. According to Department of State regulations, this job cannot be in a household as a domestic worker, a childcare provider, a camp counselor, or any job that requires the participant to invest his or her own funds for the purpose of door-to-door sales.
Intrax Work Travel also confirms each Independent placement to ensure that they meet DOS regulations and reserves the right to decline any host company at our discretion.
Both services include:
- DS 2019 form
- Up to 18 weeks of health insurance coverage
- Participant handbook
- Work Travel Participant ID card
- Orientation
- 24-hour support and emergency insurance
- The option of an additional month of insurance for $50
Premium Placement service also includes:
- Job placement opportunities
- Assistance with housing
Work Travel Yearly Seasons
The Work Travel Program operates seasonally during international university summer breaks.
Southern Season (November - April)
This season hosts participants from all countries within the southern hemisphere. Partnership decisions for the Southern Season are finalized every April
Spring Season (March - July)
This season hosts participants from most Asian countries. Partnership decisions for the Spring Season are finalized every July.
Northern Season (May - October)
This season hosts participants primarily from Europe, as well as some Asian countries. Partnership decisions for the Northern season are finalized every August.
